Deviantart is a part of my life...
To celebrate Deviantart's 14th Aniversary, I'm going to describe my beginning on Deviantart, and use five special Deviations to help me talk about my story.
I began my Deviantart career on February 18, 2011. At the time, I was only a junior in high school, and I never really was the greatest in hand-drawing (well duh) but I was very interested in Pixel art. I enjoyed to special Deviant's works of M&LIS-style sprites a lot, and I finally decided to make an account three years ago.
Chris Koopa Preview:
This was my very first Deviation, and surprisingly not a Snivy-related one. I introduced my personal OC, Chris Koopa to Deviantart, and previewed him for later comics, sprite sheets, and animations.
All of my Deviations had been about fun, and were all simple sprite pics, BIS attempts, commissions, etc. But with this Deviation, I started my own Fakemon Region, which is still ongoing to this day!
Valina 001: Leatic:
After finally deciding to start my own Fakemon Region, I obviously needed some Pokemon. My original plan was to submit Pokemon in chronological order, but I soon decided against it. My first Pokemon was Leatic (I honestly have no Idea where I got the "ic" in Leatic... totally forgot) and while it was originally poorly drawn (like I said, wasn't and still not a good hand-drawer), it has become a nice Fake, and a staple in the region's dex.
If you know me well enough, you'll know I love animations in games, specifically the Pokemon Games. When I learned to create Gen 5-style animated Pokemon sprites, I knew I had to start submitting them to Deviantart. Of course though I used a different program then, and I started off with a simple sprite with a simple motion. This was the start to the animated sprites for me, and I know many people enjoy me for them.
I did this a while ago, and it showcased all of my best friend's (and people who I watched who weren't actually friends with me) avatars and OCs. Many people got enjoyment of seeing their character/icon on this series of Deviations, and many wanted their's on. Even though I eventually got sick of it and stopped making them, it still shows a reminder of many of my oldest friends, my best friends, and those whom I look up to. Of course I have many new friends since then, but I always love glancing at the photo to see all those I've come to know and love on Deviantart.
